About
Bilal Khan, Ph.D., is Associate Professor in the School of Computer Science and Engineering at California State University, San Bernardino. His research applies machine learning, deep learning, and computer vision to problems in environmental engineering and public health — with a long-running focus on intelligent water treatment, data-driven water-consumption modeling, and nanomaterial risk assessment.
Before joining CSUSB, he was an Assistant Researcher at the UCLA Institute of the Environment and Sustainability (2013–2020), where he developed a nanoinformatics platform and cyber-infrastructure for regional water districts. He has co-founded a water-treatment startup as Chief Analytics Officer, was recognized among Water & Waste Digest's "13 Young Professionals" (2019), and has published more than 20 papers in high-impact journals.
